  Got denied a beer purchase just because I had a vertical ID (despite being 21 and the ID still being valid for one more month). I had purchased beer at this Jewel before (I'd been 21 for 2 months) with my vertical ID and never had a problem. When I asked my friend to purchase the beer for me, they wouldn't let him despite the fact that I had been 21 for 2 months and had the ID to prove it. Cashier lady then denied my friend's military ID and talked to us very rudely. At least her manager explained in a polite and professional manner that despite it being a senseless protocol, he had to follow it or else he'd get fired, which is at least somewhat understandable. The cashier lady's behavior was abhorrent. Screw this store.
