  "Did you ever consider your symptoms might all be in your head" - Dr. Ozgen and Sandy Mazur were my PCPs from around 2002-2016. I began having debilitating health issues in Oct 2014. Over the past 2 years I went to them on numerous occasions in a desperate attempt to feel better. After multiple unfounded diagnostics, in Spring of 2016 I discovered that over 30,000 women had reported complications with the same permanent birth control I had implanted. Again, I went back and saw Sandy Mazur with a stack of my test results, a list of the 53 adverse symptoms I was experiencing and even pictures of my extremely noticeable change in physical appearance over the past 2 years. Her response was "What do you want me to do"? I asked her to test me for a nickel allergy and she ordered me a metal toxicity test that didn't even include nickel. Long story short, I followed up with Dr. Ozgen the same month and he asked me, "ARE YOU SURE THESE SYMPTOMS ARE NOT ALL IN YOUR HEAD"? I ran out of their office sobbing as I suffered for almost 2 years with excruciating pain and truthfully felt like I was dying. I felt hopeless and contemplated my will to live. In September of 2016 I got the courage to try another Doctor after reading an article written by an M.D. that "every single patient" he'd seen shown improvement after removal of the permanent birth control. I had the birth control removed 9/30/16. The pain in my hips was gone IMMEDIATELY in recovery! I am almost 6 weeks post-op and everyday I feel more and more back to normal. Half of the 53 symptoms are gone already!!! Telling me my symptoms were all in my head made me want to end my life and I couldn't be more grateful today that I didn't listen to my Primary Care Physician for over a decade!
